Who Are We?
We are a loving Church community who have a passion to grow, worship and serve our local community in Christ’s love and power.

We are a Family Friendly Community Church in Wallsend, Tyne and Wear.
Every service has a dedicated children's message before our young people attend our Junior church.
The first Sunday of each month is a family service full of informal fun!
We are known for our friendly relaxed and family atmosphere.
WBC has served the Lord Jesus and the people of Wallsend for over a century.
At the start of the twentieth century Wallsend was growing rapidly as a major centre for shipbuilding,
and in 1908 Mr W Galloway of Jesmond Baptist Church began holding services in a room above a shop on the High Street.
In 1909 we were formed as a congregation, and our first church building was on North View.
We moved to our current site in 1951.
We continue to fulfill our vision for building a community serving Wallsend, and to see those walls come down.
Serving, Praying, and learning from God’s word are vital tools in our hands.
Each week we pray for a street in our community, check out our prayer room
to see which street we are praying for, and if you require prayer you can send a prayer request to us.
We have a dedicated mobile for pastoral concerns, if you need us, give us a ring!
We need to stir ourselves and be stirred by the Holy Spirit to keep the passion alive.
With love, faith, unity, perseverance and compassion in service and prayer we will see the growth we need.
